“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”  ‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In the book of John, we find one of the most profound prayers in the Bible. Jesus is praying to the Father.  By reading Jesus’ prayer, we gain a better understanding of Jesus’ heart and purpose.

In His prayer, Jesus lovingly prays for His children, and specifically prays for unity among His children.  Why would He pray for such unity?  Simply put, when we are unified, we can more effectively serve as a body and we will be a better witness to the watching world.  Ultimately, such unity glorifies God.

Let’s seek unity in the Church by submitting to God’s Spirit and walking in His love.  God deserves to be glorified!
