Matthew 18:21-22, "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.'

Question: How willing are you to forgive others? What about repeat offenders? Jesus makes it clear here that forgiveness must flow continually and freely to those around us who are in need of it. That’s it’s not a matter of mathematics, which means, I am not to keep count. That’s a high call for a Christian to do, but we have Jesus’ example to pave the way. Think of it, in your life so far, how many times has He freely forgiven you when asked? He has faithfully done so instantly and completely (1John 1:9). C.S. Lewis wrote, “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.”

It goes without saying, He who has been forgiven an 'ocean of sin' can afford to offer a cup of forgiveness. Is there someone you need to forgive this morning, from whom you have been withholding it? Ask the Lord to help you make it right.
