Jesus CALLS US TO SERVE

Each of our ministries is designed to meet the needs of various parts of our church body and the community around us.

The ministry of the Chapel Bookstore is to provide biblical resources at a reasonable cost so that each individual can deepen their walk with God. The bookstore stocks books, Bibles, cards, music and inspirational gift items. The trained bookstore staff can recommend resources to meet diverse needs. The bookstore is also available for special orders on books that aren't currently stocked.

The LORD'S Library is a lending library dedicated to building up the body of Christ in it's most holy faith. A variety of books, audio tape studies, commentaries and videos are available. All are welcome to stop by the Library table to check out library materials after both Sunday morning services. Special requests for resource materials are also accepted.
It is the goal of the Children's Ministry to provide a Bible based foundational education to kids, aged nursery through 5th grade. This is accomplished through basic Bible stories, memorization, worship songs and situational lessons, as the children grow older. Through this, we pray that they will learn the importance of prayer and Bible reading in the development of their personal relationship and faith in Jesus Christ. Our Children's Ministry is under the direction of Gerald and Brooklyn Cave.

The Christian Foundations Class is a six week Bible study class designed to strengthen both new believers and mature Christians in their knowledge and experience of important biblical truths. Topics covered include salvation, the nature of God, the authority and reliability of the scriptures, prayer, knowing the will of God, spiritual gifts, the nature of the Church and how individual believers fit into it, communion, and baptism. All are welcome to participate and they are encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussions. The class is taught twice a year.
College Study: Discipleship through God's Word, fellowship through His Holy Spirit. Everyone is welcome to join us in the study of God's Word as we go verse by verse every week. We desire meaningful relationships with each other as well as getting involved in service and internship through Calvary Chapel Point Loma. Discovering the gifts and roles God has for each of us in the body of believers and where we can serve brings the Word of God alive! Be creative, be intentional, and grow in the foundation and grace of Jesus Christ.

Our model for ministry is taken from Acts 2:42, 47, where we place an emphasis on worship, prayer, fellowship and the teaching of God's Word, which is integral to all we do together. Everything is centered upon Jesus, and His substitutionary death on the cross for our sin; His resurrection and imminent return, and life in and the leading of the Holy Spirit in a Christ-centered life.

If you are in college, out into the career world, or young at heart come and join us!
The High School Ministry exists to lead youths to the LORD and to develop in them a firm foundation of Bible study, prayer, worship, and fellowship. We desire to give them every opportunity to know Jesus Christ and to commune with Him for the rest of their lives and on into eternity.

To facilitate this we are constantly going through the Word, generally, in the New Testament on Sunday mornings and in the Old Testament on Fridays. We desire to provide the youths with opportunities to exercise their faith by taking them out for outreach, evangelism, service and retreats. We are blessed to see the kids actively involved in the body of Christ at CCPL serving and using their gifts to bless others, it is our aim to encourage them in this as much as possible. Our High School Ministry is under the direction of Keith Elliott.
Hospitality Ministry is a ministry that serves The LORD Jesus Christ and the body of believers at Calvary Chapel Point Loma. We take care of all the food and beverages that are distributed at all Calvary Chapel Point Loma functions. We believe we can bring the best and highest quality product to the table. With keeping in mind Jesus' words in John 13:14 "If I then, your LORD and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet." Our vision is that by providing a cup of coffee and piece of fruit every person will hang out, pray, fellowship, and be encouraged in their walk with God. Above all the food and events we want to show God's love to one another. John 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love on another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another."
The Junior High Ministry at Calvary Chapel Point Loma is all about Jesus, and knowing Him supremely, and is primarily evangelistic in nature. Our desire is to reach kids for Christ in order that they might have a saving faith in Him; and to minister to those who do know Him, to the perfecting of their faith. Our love and desire is to see the Junior High kids develop a strong, permanent, consistent relationship with The LORD that will stand alone and endure in His Word.
The Living Waters Audio Ministry is a resource that people can use to spread the gospel. You can purchase copies of Pastor Mike's messages to share with others. All of Pastor Mike's sermons are recorded as well as special functions that are held at Calvary.
The purpose of the Meals Ministry is to provide temporary assistance to individuals and families in their time of need, by providing fellowship with a meal. This is accomplished on a rotation basis. If you would like to be involved with the Meals Ministry, please see the back of the bulletin for more details, or contact the Church Office.
The purpose of the Men's Ministry is to provide an opportunity for the men of Calvary Chapel Point Loma to gather together around God's Word and grow into the spiritual leaders that God wants them to be in their homes and in the Church body. The heart of the Men's Ministry is the Men's Bible Study. The men meet once a week on Monday night for worship, prayer, study of the Word, and fellowship (Act 2:42). Many activities are planned throughout the year to encourage fellowship and spiritual growth. A key activity for the Men's Ministry is the annual men's weekend retreat. It is a time of refreshing and fellowship with speakers, worship, prayer, and free time for the men to get to know each other better. Other activities include BBQ's, fishing and camping trips, community outreach, and support to other church ministries. This ministry is under the direction of Mick Maggiora and Brook Alderfer.
The Missions Ministry is designed to heed the call of Jesus in our lives to share the hope of Jesus with the world.
The purpose of the Usher's Ministry is to provide support for, and to be an extension of, the pastoral ministry in the preparation of the body to receive the Word of the LORD. To be in the ministration of the body during worship so that the spreading of the Gospel can be carried out without distraction.
The Women's Ministry is developed to encourage, equip, and exhort the women at Calvary Chapel so they may live godly Christian lives. Titus 2:1-5 is the basis for the events and activities we plan. We offer Women's Bible Studies for women of all ages, retreats, special events such as teas and desserts as well as one to one discipleship. Our desire is for the women to know Jesus personally and intimately and then to share their lives as a witness to those around them. This Ministry is under the direction of Susan Hickey.
The worship ministry at Calvary Chapel Point Loma seeks to provide consistently-inspired worship and praise music. Through a team of musicians and singers, our goal is to usher in His splendor and provide an intimate time of praise and adoration. Worship begins with our loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The worship team prepares each week for Thursday and Sunday services with a weekly Bible study and rehearsal meeting with an emphasis on discipleship and an individual’s calling with a heart to worship our Lord with the utmost in Spirit and Truth.

The worship ministry is under the leadership of Anthony DaLuz.
